The International Open University Central Library offers an orientation program to students and others at the beginning of every academic year. Through this program, an effort is made to familiarize every new patron with the resources, services, policies, and facilities etc. offered by the IOU Libraries. The libraries have also been offering training programs and workshops from time to time, particularly in the areas of using e-resources, citations management, use of the online digital library, searching techniques, and information literacy. In addition, the IOU Libraries have initiated focused discussions with research scholars in different disciplines. Library orientation programs are being conducted after each new admission in order to impart the library procedures to newcomers.
